A vision of the future emerges at the Buckinghamshire Business First AGM

 Moira Hamer - Excellence Training

Thank you to all those who attended last night’s Buckinghamshire Business First AGM and for taking the time to listen to the exciting new plans we have for the future. For those of you who couldn’t make it – read on as we have some exciting news!

Buckinghamshire Business First Chairman Alex Pratt opened proceedings at the brand new University Campus Aylesbury Vale (UCAV) in front of members, board directors and the Buckinghamshire Business First team inspiring us all with a reminder of the progress we have made. This journey began just 4 years ago with 10 businesses and £100,000 and in that time we have delivered £10 million in grants to local businesses, supported the creation of 1,700 jobs are now approaching 8,000 members and with our partners Buckinghamshire Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership, have leveraged £500 million of investment into the county. Read our Annual Report here for facts and figures >

The Buckinghamshire business community has an ethos that says ‘we can do it for ourselves’. This was epitomised by Alex likening Buckinghamshire Business First to a teenager ready to fly the family nest and set out on its own. Indeed, we are ready to set out on our own entrepreneurial path to reduce our dependence on government funding and we know that we are not alone on this journey.

Members were given a glimpse into our plans for the future and invited to co-invest Buckinghamshire Business First and we have been heartened by the response of those who pledged their support on the night.

Membership of Buckinghamshire Business First will remain free but we are asking local businesses to step up to the plate and invest in their business and the wider Buckinghamshire business community at the same time.
