Buckinghamshire Business Award winners: Stoke Park

Stoke Park took home the Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality Business of the Year award for the second time running at the Buckinghamshire Business Awards, and promptly followed it up with the Best in Chiltern and South Bucks District honour.

The awards were gratefully received by Nick Downie, Head of Communications at Stoke Park: “We always strive to exceed expectations and our team works very hard to ensure that our guests enjoy visiting us and enjoy everything that Buckinghamshire has to offer. We are delighted to have won the Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality award for the second year running.”

The team at Stoke Park were congratulated by the judges and presenters of the awards. First, Elizabeth Adlington, Chief Executive of the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre and Chair of Visit Bucks who awarded the Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality award:

“Stoke Park are my winners for the 2nd year running as they constantly strive for excellence whilst continuously building their brand locally, nationally and internationally.

“They are always looking for ways of engaging their members, whilst also looking after customers who aren’t members.

“Their staff retention is excellent. The training they receive is very important to the owners, and the owners meet weekly with the staff to check for any issues that might arise. I was impressed by the fact that they have apprentices in the hotel – I think that that is a good way of promoting employment in Buckinghamshire to college students.”
Cllr Isobel Darby, Chiltern County Council and Cllr Ralph Bagge, South Bucks District Council, awarded Stoke Park with their second trophy of the evening, for Best in Chiltern & South Bucks Districts.

They were impressed by the Stoke Park ethos: ‘happy staff equals a happy business’, saying “Stoke Park is constantly improving and moving forward, wanting to grow the business but keep the magic. They aim for world class hospitality.”

The runners-up in the Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality category were Hill Farm and Orchard Wigwams and The Farmers’ Bar at The Kings Head.
The runners-up in the Best in Chiltern & South Bucks Districts category were Dresd and Global Infusion Group.
