Buckinghamshire Business First’s debut on Mix96 sets the bar high

If you didn’t tune in on Monday evening you can download the podcast and catch up on what you missed, including appearances from BBF members, Aylesbury MP David Lidington, our Chairman and local business leaders and stakeholders.

Every Monday on Mix96 from 7pm-8pm we will tell the story of business in Buckinghamshire, the Entrepreneurial Heart of Britain, from the point of view of owners, employees, politicians and those in economic development.

We started as we mean to go on with Monday night’s debut, hosted by the engaging double act of Buckinghamshire Business First Chairman Alex Pratt OBE and Mix96 Managing Director Max Hailey.

Highlights included:

  • One of our founders Michael Garvey, a local business leader with commercial property consultants Chandler Garvey, explaining why the creation of Buckinghamshire Business First was necessary in the wake of the disbanding of regional development agencies after the 2010 General Election, something that left Buckinghamshire particularly vulnerable.
  • Aylesbury MP David Lidington’s visit to Buckinghamshire Business First member COM-DEV as part of a positive look at the future of Aylesbury’s economy, which will benefit greatly from the digital revolution that touches every business in Buckinghamshire.
  • Buckinghamshire Business First member Gary Warby of Premier Windows telling listeners why he does business in the county and revealing what he thinks is the best part of membership into Buckinghamshire Business First.
  • The Buckinghamshire Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership’s (BTVLEP) Ian Barham providing details of a new rural tourism funding stream now open.
