Posted 2nd May 2013

If you have an idea that needs protecting, or you want to improve your cyber security, a Government scheme is poised to deliver £5,000 to those determined to avoid becoming victims online.

The Innovation Vouchers form part of the Government’s Cyber Security Strategy, which aims to make the UK one of the safest places in the world to do business online. Businesses often bear the brunt of cyber crime, so these measures will be welcome for those who have been affected by it in the past.

The vouchers will help companies secure specialist consulting in order to protect new inventions, develop a technology strategy or develop an idea into a working prototype, among other things. The Innovation Vouchers are to support projects that have a high level of innovation challenge, and they are designed to help you to forge new business relationships and access new areas of expertise. If you are successful, you will be able to choose your own consultant, in order to best match your needs.

The scheme is open to SMEs in the UK, entrepreneurs and early stage start-ups in any sector. Anyone interested in the scheme has until July 24th 2013 to apply.
