Get ready for Retail Lift Off in Aylesbury

Following the success of the first Retail Lift Off programme in 2013, Aylesbury Vale Town Centre Partnership is once again inviting applications from local businesses that are looking to grow and start trading in Aylesbury’s town centre.

Following the success of the first Retail Lift Off programme in 2013, Aylesbury Vale Town Centre Partnership is once again inviting applications from local businesses that are looking to grow and start trading in Aylesbury’s town centre.

Successful applicants will receive 6 weeks of rent free trading either on a market stall on any of the general market days, from a mobile retail barrow which can be used in various town centre locations or, subject to availability, an empty shop unit. Retail Lift Off is supported by a host of business offering free services such as mentoring, legal, financial, marketing and retail advice.

After the 6 weeks of free trading, businesses will be asked to pay rent on a sliding scale with all monies received reinvested into the scheme to help fund the next tranche of independent retailers.

The 2013 Retail Lift Off campaign was a huge success, as 38 local businesses pledged their support and 20 experienced business owners offered personal mentoring to new businesses. Those new businesses each received 10 hours of support and training that proved invaluable to them.

Aylesbury Vale Town Centre Manager, Diana Fawcett said:  “By offering the Retail Lift Off opportunities again this year, we are continuing to support new local businesses get a foot hold in the town.  We are working really hard to revive our town centre and we feel this will continue to breathe life into the market whilst bringing a new unusual and outdoor shopping experience to the town centre.”
