Local employers sought to help fund cutting edge training for young people

The team at New Meaning are dedicated to enabling people to make a positive contribution through work. They are providing cutting edge training to young people wishing to go into the construction industry, but after a government funding cut are now in need of financial support to ensure the training can still go ahead. This is an opportunity for local construction companies to play a part on filling their own skills gaps and potentially training their own future staff.

There are 16 young people desperate to start their training, change their lives and get their first foot on the career ladder. Local employers can donate to the cause, and if the training does go ahead are being inviting to offer site visits, talks or work experience to the young people.

You can hear what the young people themselves have to say in this YouTube video. Find out how you can support this project or get more information by calling Jessica Tyrrell on 07719 808028.

MAS provided Micha Design with funding for three projects, including the training of production staff to achieve internationally recognised qualifications that are usually required to secure large tenders, as well as design and project management of solar panels on the roof of their site, a move that is saving the firm around £2,000 a year.
