Thank you to those who have already responded to the Business Survey and Residents Survey, but we need to do more. Have you told your friends and family about the consultation? Have you told your staff? If they live in Buckinghamshire, they can take the Residents Survey too. It isn’t often that people get a chance like this to truly affect which things their own taxes will help pay for.
In the survey you can specify which areas are the most important to you. From your standpoint as a business, the topics of job creation and high speed broadband infrastructure are likely to high priorities. The strength of feeling within the business community to at the very least maintain the funding levels and support we have, let alone improve upon them, needs to be reflected in the responses to the survey.
Buckinghamshire already has the fewest available local jobs per head of population anywhere in England and we are rapidly becoming a dormitory County, which means less and less of our disposable income is being spent in our localities. Unless there is clear support for continued investment for businesses and creating jobs, the Council may cut funding in this area to zero.
So, please spread the word and if you haven’t already taken part in the consultation you can do so here as a business and here as a resident.
