Where does the time go? It feels like just a short time ago that the bunting was being put away after another successful Buckinghamshire Business Awards. The 2015 awards may be six months away, but the deadline for getting your applications in is just over six weeks away on 31 January 2015. With Christmas, New Year and the early January haze between now and then, we all know how quickly that period will go.

You may want to invest some pre-Christmas time in filling out your application form, something to tick off the to-do list for 2014. Alternatively, you might decide you have plenty of time to focus on business over the festive period while others settle down for endless repeats of 1970’s sitcoms. Either way, you will help yourself by not leaving your application until the last second. A well-prepared application form stands out a mile when judges come to make their decisions. More to the point, a rushed application form stands out even more, for all the wrong reasons.

Remember that with the 2015 awards you can also nominate a business for any category they are eligible for. There must be a business out there that you feel deserves recognition for their efforts in 2014, so why not help them on their way? Sometimes people just need a little friendly nudge in the right direction, so whether you are the one doing the nudging or this article gives you that nudge, make sure you get involved with the 2015 Buckinghamshire Business Awards in some shape or form.
