Olympic Legends at Legacy Dinner

Last night saw The Bucks 2012 Legacy dinner take place at Dorney Lake, the Olympic Rowing venue. Over 150 key individuals from business and the community turned out to hear Olympic legends Sir Steve Redgrave CBE and Adrian Moorhouse MBE discuss the challenges they faced as Olympic athletes and what impact the 2012 Games will have on the UK in the long term. As successful business people, they also talked about how sport and business are ideally matched and the dedication and determination necessary to succeed in both fields.

Buckinghamshire County Council has a team dedicated to bringing together all 2012 related activities under one programme – including community celebrations for the Diamond Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Helping to ensure school involvement, inward investment for local businesses and creating a lasting legacy beyond this exciting year.

With less that 100 days to go until the Olympics, Dorney Lake, the venue for the Rowing, Kayaking and Paralympic Rowing events, was a fitting location for this prestigious event.

The event was also an opportunity to raise money for Wheelpower, the national charity for wheelchair sport and a raffle with many exciting prizes was held and raised the sum of £2027.
